Twelve core members and supporters of the Ratsadon group reported to Phya Thai police station today, to acknowledge charges of violating the state of emergency law with their protest march from the Victory Monument to Government House on October 21st.

One of them, Piyarat “Toto” Chongthep, told the media that he is not concerned about the charge at all because, even without the leaders, protests can still go on uninterrupted.

The other members facing charges today include Chonthicha Jaengraew, Suwanna Tarnlek, Chartchai Kaedam, Korakot Saengyen, Apisit Sapnapapant, Passaravalee Thanakitvibulphol, Dr. Tosaporn Sererak and Arnan Loomchan.

Meanwhile, Pol Maj Gen Piya Tavichai, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said today that neither the Ratsadon group nor any other protest group has notified the police about their planned protest, which is expected to beginlate this afternoon at Lat Phrao road intersection.

Nevertheless, he said that police will be deployed at the scene to ensure peace and order and that motorists have already been advised to avoid the area.

Pol Col Krisana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, warned protesters not to have posters containing wording which could be deemed to be defamatory or inciting public unrest and should avoid using excessively loudsound systems.
