Twenty-nine tourists were injured when the wooden floor of a beach-front seafood restaurant in which they were having a buffet lunch caved in.
The incident took place at about noon on the second floor of the well-known restaurant in Bang Saray seaside village, Sattahip district of eastern province of Chon Buri.

Rescue workers from Sawangrote Thammasatharn foundation was immediately dispatched to the scene after they were alerted by the restaurant manager.
They managed to pull all the 29 tourists – 14 men and 15 women – from a pile of wooden planks, chairs and tables, given them first-aid treatment before having them sent to a Royal Thai Navy’s hospital in Sattahip.

Most suffered bruises and cuts, but none of them were in serious condition.

The cause of the cave-in is still under investigation by the police.
