Red-shirt movement leader Jatuporn Promphan has urged the leaders of the September 19th protest to make clear to the public the actual destination of their planned march on Sunday, whether it is to be Government House or the Royal Plaza.

Quoting intelligence sources, Senator Somchai Sawaengkarn has claimed that Government House is just a decoy and the real destination is the Equestrian Monument of King Chulalongkorn at the Royal Plaza.

The chairman of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) said that the Royal Plaza is a serious and sensitive location, and there will be issues if the protest leaders become unable to control the crowd.

“If the senator’s claim is not true, the protest organizers must state as much,” said Jatuporn.

In his Facebook live address Thursday evening, Jatuporn said that the organizers of this weekend’s protest, the Thammasat Alliance, is different from the Free Youth movement that staged the controversial protest rally at Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus on August 10th, during which the 10-point manifesto for the reform of the Thai Monarchy was publicly unveiled.

If the Government really wants this weekend’s protest to be peaceful, he suggested that it orders Thammasat University to open the Tha Prachan campus for the protesters.
