Seven more Thai soldiers, returning from South Sudan, are among 14 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Thailand today (Tuesday).

According to the CCSA, the new infections, confirmed by tests conducted on September 26th in state quarantine in Chon Buri province, have brought total infections among Thai troops returning from South Sudan to 23.

Other new infections include Thai women, aged 28 and 50, returning from Hong Kong and entering state quarantine in Bangkok on September 22nd. They tested positive for COVID-19 on September 26th.

Three others are Indian nationals, a mother and her nine-month old daughter and a 34-year old businessman. They arrived in Thailand on September 23rd and entered hotel based state quarantine in Bangkok. They were found to be infected three days later.

The remaining case is a 44-year old Thai woman, who arrived from Turkey on September 22nd and entered state quarantine in Bangkok. She tested positive four days later.

Cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, are 3,559, with 3,370 recoveries. 130 others are still being treated in hospital. The death toll remains 59.
