A 72-year-old man in a wheel chair, equipped with an oxygen tank and escorted by hospital staff, exercised his right to vote on Sunday in Dusit district.

The patient, identified as Kitti Kochanun, is receiving medical treatment in the ICU at Vichaiyut Hospital.

Kitti cast his ballots and dropped them into the boxes by himself, while sitting in the wheel chair, while a Vichaiyut Hospital medical team watched him closely.

Kitti said that, although he is very sick, he wanted to fulfil the duty of a good Thai citizen by voting. “I informed my doctors beforehand that I wanted to vote,” he said.

He encouraged all Thais to vote and to choose representatives who will work for the country.
