Only four areas of Bangkok are affected by high levels of PM2.5 dust today, as temperatures across the country, including the capital, are forecast to plummet by 2-8 degrees celsius tomorrow.

The Pollution Control Department reported  that the levels of PM2.5 in and around Bangkok at 7am were between 19.8-49.6μg (microns), against the threshold of 37.5μg

The areas in Bangkok with high levels of PM2.5 today are:

  • Krung Kasem Road in Pom Prap district, 37.6μg
  • Lat Phrao Soi 95 in Wang Thong Lang district, 38.4μg
  • Rodfai Thonburi 5 housing estate in Bangkok Noi district,  37.8μg
  • Ma Charoen Phet Kasem 81 Road in Nong Khaem district,  41.8μg

Three areas around Bangkok affected by excessive PM2.5 are:

  • Bang Phut sub-district in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi, 40.1μg
  • Paknam sub-district, Mueang district, Samut Prakan, 37.7μg
  • Mahachai sub-district, Mueang district, Samut Sakhon, 39.6μg

The Meteorological Department reports that frost will be seen in some mountainous areas in the north on Wednesday, where the mercury is predicted to drop to 3-10oC, while temperatures in the north-eastern highlands are forecast to drop to 5 degrees celsius .

Temperatures are forecast to drop by 5-8 degrees celsius in north-eastern provinces, 4-6oC in northern provinces, 3-5 degrees celsius in eastern and central regions, including Bangkok, and 2-4 degrees celsius in the south.
