One foreigner was killed and another was seriously injured when their two-seater single-prop plane crashed into an open field in Chon Buri province Saturday morning.
Emergency services at the crash site, which is near Huay Yai Temple in Banglamung district and about 500 metres from a road, tried to extract the two people from the wreckage and found one of them had already died and the other suffering serious injuries.
Both victims were taken to the district hospital.
Villagers in the area told the police that they heard a loud explosion and saw a plane crash into the field.
Local officials said the identities and nationalities of the two victims are unknown, adding that aviation authorities will investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
