The content team, working for an online influencer, who drove his Tesla onto a popular beach in Chumphon province on Sunday, met with police and were fined Bt5,000 each for causing a disturbance in a public place.
Lungsuan district police were informed that the influencer, on the “SpriteDer SPD” channel, Netijenn Pakuikham, who has 14.1 million followers, is in South Korea and unable to report to the police.
Netijenn, whose channel has garnered more than 3.38 billion views since its founding ten years ago, sparked an uproar after he drove his vehicle onto the beach, which is always crowded with tourists and locals.
His adventure came to an abrupt end when his vehicle got stuck in the sand.
The incident went viral after being filmed by passers-by and posted on many social media platforms.
It attracted hundreds of comments, mostly negative, criticising his actions as inappropriate and setting a bad example for others.
Commentators called for the authorities to take action against Netijenn.
