A police colonel in Hang District of Chiang Mai province has offered to turn himself in, after an arrest warrant was issued by the provincial court for allegedly operating a call centre scam.
The offer to surrender by Pol Lt-Col “Bandhit”, an inspector attached to Hang Dong police station, follows raids on an apartment in Ban Uah Arthon Night Safari condominium, in Hang Dong district, and on another apartment in Mueang district.
Twelve SIM boxes, internet routers and several other devices were seized by the police in the raids. Four people, including three women and a man, were arrested.
Police alleged that “Bandhit” ran the call centre scam and asked his son to recruit his friends to operate the technology and system.
