Cambodian police have asked for the return of two murder suspects in exchange for the delivery of Panya Yingdang, alias Sia Oun, wanted in Thailand allegedly for the killing of a man and a woman at Khao Cheechan in Chon Buri on July 29.

The two Cambodians wanted by Cambodian police on a murder case were identified as Boun Pornlok, a former medical student, and Huan Vietna, who are being held in police custody in Tha Mai district of Chanthaburi province.

An informed police said that the exchange of the three suspects would take place at Klong Luek border crossing in Aranyaprathet district of Sakaeo province.

Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the national police chief, said he had sent Pol Gen Suchart Thirasawat, the police inspector-general, to Phnom Penh today  to arrange for the return to Thailand of Panya who was charged with involvement in the murder of Ms Paveena Namuangrak and Mr Anantachai Charitrum at Khao Cheechan on July 29.

He was optimistic that the arrangement with Cambodian police would be smooth and the suspect would be sent back to stand trial.  A press conference is scheduled at the Royal Thai Police Office on Saturday.

The murder reportedly stemmed from jealousy after Panya learned that Ms Paveena broke up with him  and had a new boyfriend.

Three men who allegedly helped arrange for Panya to escape to Cambodia were today taken by police to the Criminal Court to have their detention extended.

The trio were identified as Kowin Silpano, Vinai Solpano and Phuthorn Singdee.
