Former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has declared his assets to the National Anti-Corruption Committee (NACC), revealing that he is now Bt1.5 million richer than when he first declared them nine years ago.

In the document released by the NACC, it is revealed that Former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s total assets are now worth Bt130.2 million—an increase of Bt1.5 million since his initial declaration to the NACC in 2014.

His assets include Bt13.7 million in deposits in seven bank accounts, Bt64 million in investments in stocks and bonds, two plots of land worth about Bt3.2 million, a house in Soi Ruam Mit off Phahonyothin Road in Phaya Thai district worth Bt3.6 million, four cars worth about Bt10.7 million, including a Porsche Panamera, a Toyota Alphard, a 2011 Mercedes Benz and a 2005 Ford Ranger, five million baht in gold rings, bracelets, chains and nine wrist watches, nine guns worth Bt253,000 and two bicycles worth Bt203,000.

His total assets, declared in 2014, were Bt128 million. These included Bt58 million deposits in six bank accounts, Bt23 million in investments, two plots of land worth about Bt2.3 million, a Bt2 million baht house, four cars worth about Bt11.8 million and four other assets worth about Bt4.1 million.

As the eldest son, General Prayut was given Bt540 million by his aging father from the sale of land to 69 Property Company, one of the companies owned by tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi. Most of that money was given to his two daughters and his brothers.

General Prayut’s wife, Naraporn, has assets worth about Bt31.5 million, compared to the Bt26.3 million assets declared in 2014.

Ministers and politicians are legally required to declare their assets when and after they leave office.

Meanwhile former Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan has declared assets totalling Bt89.2 million, an increase of about Bt2 million from the assets he declared to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) nine years ago.

According to the NACC, Gen Prawit’s assets now include Bt43.5 million in deposits in nine bank accounts, Bt4.8 million in investments, 3 plots of land worth about Bt17 million, a 10-million baht house in Khlong Sam Wa in Pathum Thani, 5 cars worth about Bt13.6 million, nine rings worth Bt229,500, a Bt15,000 wrist watch and three handguns. He is also Bt757.26 in debt.

None of the luxury wristwatches he was seen wearing in public years ago, which he claimed belonged to a former classmate who has already died, were declared.

General Prawit’s assets of Bt87.3 million declared in 2014 included Bt53.1 million baht in bank deposits, seven million baht in investments, plots of land worth Bt17 million, a 10-million baht house and one car worth about Bt100,000.

General Prawit is single and childless. He has four siblings.
