The government has set Aug 1 for a party to thank all the people and organizations that were involved in the operation to rescue 13 Wild Boars out of Tham Luang cave,  Prime Minister’s Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana said today.

Mr Suwaphan said the party will be titled “United As One” to signify unity and bonded relations among those involved.

The thank-you party will be held on Aug 1 between 6pm-9pm at the open ground of the Dusit Palace with permission from His Majesty the King, who will also provide foods for the event.

Mr Suwaphan said the government will fully dedicate itself to the party, which is expected to draw thousands of guests, probably as many as 10,000.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and all cabinet members will attend the party, as well as heads of government and private agencies which took part in the rescue operation or donated their equipment.

An invitation will be sent to:

1) All Thai people, both in the government and private sectors, that took part in the search and rescue operation;

2) Foreigners who joined the operation, ambassadors of countries which provided help or showed their intention to help, and representatives of the offices of military attaches of those countries;

3) Members of both Thai and foreign news media who covered the operation; and

4) People who provided support by various means. They include farmers whose farmland took water drained from Tham Luang cave, operators of vehicles taking people to and from the cave, and those who provided free washing and massage. They will be provided with transportation to the party and accommodations.
