A fire broke out on HTMS Khirirat around noon today while docking in Laem Thian, Sattahip district, Chonburi province.
Initial reports said at least nine Navy officers were injured and that the fire was caused after a firearm from HTMS Chonburi, docking nearby, was accidentally discharged.
The ship, having been in service with the Royal Thai Navy for more than 40 years, belongs to the 1st Frigate Fleet, Fleet Operations Command.
