Temperatures in Bangkok and its suburbs are forecast to further fall by another 1-2oC on Tuesday, while the north and northeast will see a 2-4oC drop, according to the Meteorological Department’s forecast.

Northern Thailand remains covered by a strong cold front and this will cause temperatures in most of Thailand, except in the south, to drop further to 12-16oC in the lowlands in the north and 5-12oC in the highlands.

In the northeast, minimum temperatures in the lowlands are forecast to be between 10oC and 15oC and between 2oC and 10oC in mountainous areas.

Minimum temperatures in the central region are forecast to be between 16-19 degrees Celsius and between 18-20oC for Bangkok and its suburbs.

The western coast of southern Thailand will continue to face heavy to very heavy rain, covering Krabi, Trang and Satun provinces. Waves are high, particularly in stormy areas, where waves are expected to reach four metres.

The eastern coast, covering Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Pattani, Yala, Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat, continues to see heavy to very heavy rain and a slight drop in temperature with rough seas.

In the resort town of Hua Hin, red flags are being flown today (Monday) to warn people not to venture into the sea due to strong waves. Hardly any tourists are on the beaches today.
