Given a choice between disbanding political parties or the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), 70.2% of respondents to Super Poll say they would prefer to see political parties being dissolved, compared to 29.8% who want ISOC disbanded.

The Super Poll Research Centre conducted a survey on ISOC and the government between November 1st and 4th by interviewing 1,210 people in various occupations.

The poll shows 62.9% of the respondents suggest that the role of ISOC should be expanded to include cyber security, while 51.5% say ISOC should remain, but it needs to be reformed to meet the demands of the people in each area. 51.4% say ISOC should expand its role in public disaster mitigation. 29.8% say ISOC should be dissolved.

Citing the poll, Dr. Noppadon Kannika, founder of Super Poll, said that the majority of the Thai people realise the importance of ISOC in the maintenance of national security and in public disaster mitigation and illegal narcotic suppression.

He also said that most people want to see the government and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin complete its four-year term.

The opposition Move Forward party is advocating for the dissolution of ISOC, military reform and an end to mandatory conscription.
