A group of fans of the popular ‘Labubu’ toys filed complaints with the police today, claiming that they ordered the toys online but never received them.

About a hundred people around the country have reported being cheated, with total losses amounting to approximately Bt20 million.

They claim to have purchased the toys via a Facebook page and had to pay in advance.

One buyer said he attempted to contact the sellers, who responded that he had to wait because the toys would be shipped from overseas. He said he realised that he had been cheated late last month.

Meanwhile, another customer said that he paid about Bt1.5 million in advance, adding “I previously ordered some products from this seller and received them. Therefore, this time, I trusted them enough to pay a total of Bt1.5 million in advance.”

The trending Labubu ‘macaron’ version has been in great demand, both in Thailand and other countries, since “Lisa Blackpink” posted pictures of herself on her social media holding a Labubu box.

This led to a price hike and low stocks.
