An eSports-centric application has been set up by an enterprising group of gamers in Myanmar, exciting local eSports fans.

It is hoped that the “Eternity” app will become the “be all and end all portal” for the local Myanmar eSports scene, according to Eternity’s COO Aung Khant Zaw, adding that there are many features which the community will enjoy, such as exclusive live tournament broadcasts, video clips, news articles and merchandise from their favourite teams.

According to Aung, Eternity has a department dedicated to reporting on all eSports relevant news, international and local.

eSports games of note in Myanmar include Mobile Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, CS:GO and PUBG:Mobile, with more to be added.

Aung says that, for now, Eternity has signed as an official partner of Falcon eSports, one of the larger eSports organisations in Myanmar.

Soon after the launch, Eternity also announced Season 2 of the “Light of Dawn” tournament, a competition with a prize pool of 20 million Kyats (about 220,000 Baht), hosted by Eternity itself in September.

“We are very much interested in collaborating with other organisers for exclusive tournaments. One of the main appeals of our app is that our live broadcasts of tournaments will be protected from screen capture and recording. We want to give the audience the premium taste of being able to watch exclusive content.”

While Myanmar’s eSports scene definitely leans towards the mobile gaming market, Aung believes that there will be an overall growth. For now, Eternity wants to be the gathering point for all eSports enthusiasts in Myanmar.
