Tiwanon road, near the Pak Kret tunnel, was closed to all traffic since last night, after a concrete slab, which was covering a large trench dug for the installation of electrical conduit, subsided.

Traffic police say that there was no accident, nor anyone was injured when the concrete slab, near the entrance to the tunnel at Pak Kred intersection, caved in at about 7pm last night.

The contractor responsible for the construction of the Pink Line train system was notified of the incident and workers, equipped with heavy machinery, were sent to the scene late last night to carry out repairs.

Several large holes, each about nine metres deep, have been dug along the Chaengwattana and Tiwanon roads for electrical conduit installation, during the construction of the Pink Line train project, and they were temporarily covered using concrete slabs.

The repair work finished early morning and the roads were already re-opened.
