Palang Pracharath boss Prawit Wongsuwan denied widespread reports today (Tuesday) that he intends to quit politics, saying “I have never said that I will.”

When asked to comment on a report that he would not take a ministerial position if his party decides to join the new government, he said he would have to wait and see, but refused to comment on Pheu Thai party’s bid to form a government

Over the weekend, core Pheu Thai members met Palang Pracharath senior party members at Pheu Thai headquarters.

While political observers believe that Pheu Thai wanted to invite Palang Pracharath to join the government, Pheu Thai leader Chonlanan Srikaew said the meeting was only intended to woo Palang Pracharath’s support for his party’s prime ministerial candidate.

Prawit’s absence from the meeting triggered rumours that he would not take any position in the new government and would quit politics.
