A claim by Thai Sang Thai’s secretary general that Bhumjaithai called Move Forward and asked to join Move Forward’s coalition is untrue, Bhumjaithai spokesman Paradorn Prissananantakul said on Wednesday.

He claims to have already asked Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul and secretary general Saksayam Chidchob about what Sita said. Both denied that they called Move Forward and asked to join the government.

“We have declared our position, both before and after the general election, that we would not join the government with any party that has a policy to amend the lèse majesté law,” Paradorn said, referring to Move Forward’s policy.

Therefore, the claim by Sita is untrue, the spokesman said.

Paradorn demanded that Sita present evidence and proof to confirm his statements and to show who called whom.

Paradorn said former Thai Sang Thai leader Sudarat Keyuraphan has clearly stated in the past that they will not get involved with any party with a policy to amend the controversial law, but Thai Sang Thai is now joining the coalition, which has such a policy, he added.

“Sita should stop talking nonsense and not be irresponsible like this,” Paradorn said, adding, if he did not know Sita before, he may assume that Sita is a Move Forward MP, not Thai Sang Thai’s.

At present, big parties, like Pheu Thai and Move Forward, are discussing ways to form the government. Sita’s Thai Sang Thai is a small party and should allow the big parties to work freely to solve any problems incurred, Paradorn said.

Paradorn compared Sita to a Buddhist novice, saying “such issues should be affairs of abbots, not those of novices.”
