Thailand is shocked and truly saddened by the attack at Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital early this week, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement said yesterday that the attack resulted in several casualties and the loss of lives of innocent civilians.

Thailand expresses its sincere condolences to the bereaved families of all the victims as well as those who have been injured.

Thailand calls for the full protection of civilians, hospitals, medical personnel, children, women, and patients under international humanitarian law, according to the statement.

The Thai statement did not identify the attackers. According to various foreign media outlets, Russia has been named as the attacker.

They said a Russian missile hit the hospital, resulting in great destruction and casualties, including the deaths of two adults and injuries to 16 people, seven of whom were children.

The hospital is the country’s largest pediatric facility. Its dialysis department was heavily damaged, affecting children with serious medical conditions who required critical care and life support.
