Three ministers from the Pheu Thai party will resign as party-list MPs to focus on their ministerial duties, allowing a new generation of MPs to take their place in parliament.
The three are Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsutin, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Digital Economy and Society Minister Prasert Chantararuangthong.
Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said this is not unusual, as the three are handling a lot of ministerial responsibilities and it is an ideal opportunity for a new generation of MPs to step in.
In a separate interview, Somsak mentioned that he will submit an unofficial notice of resignation to the party today.
