Fully-vaccinated people travelling from Thailand to the UK from Monday will not be required to enter quarantine after Thailand is removed from its COVID-19 Red List at 4am (UK time) on October 11th, according to the British Embassy in Bangkok.
There are, however, regulations with which fully-vaccinated travellers from Thailand must comply. They must have been fully vaccinated with either the Oxford AstraZeneca, AstraZeneca vaccine produced in Thailand, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen at least 14 days prior to travel.
Mixed brand vaccinations with any of these four vaccines is also acceptable, but mixed vaccination with Sinovac and AstraZeneca, for instance, will be treated as not being fully vaccinated.
Travellers must book and pay for a Day 2 COVID test before departure, to be taken after arrival in England, and must complete a passenger locator form in the 48 hours before arrival in the UK.
Arrivals must take a COVID-19 test on or before their second day in the UK. If travellers will be in Britain for fewer than two days, they still need to book and pay for a Day 2 test.
Fully vaccinated travellers will have to show evidence of their vaccination, issued by a state agency, with their full name, date of birth, vaccine type(s) and vaccine producers clearly stated in English.
Those who are not fully vaccinated will be required to have a COVID-19 test three days before their travel, book and pay for day 2 and day 8 COVID-19 tests during their stay and complete a passenger locator form 48 hours before arrival in Britain.
Such travellers will be quarantined for 10 days at home, or in the place they are staying, if they want to stay longer. If they are in Britain for fewer than 10 days, they will be quarantined for the time they are there.
Children of all ages, who are resident in the UK or in a country with an approved proof of vaccination method, do not have to be quarantined on arrival. If they are aged 4 and under, they do not have to take any travel tests.
5 to 17 year olds do not need to take a COVID-19 test before travel, but must take a day 2 test on or before their second day in the country.
