Thailand has welcomed the UN Security Council resolution, adopted on Monday, which calls for the release of the remaining hostages, which include Thai nationals,

The resolution also calls for an immediate, full and complete ceasefire in Gaza, and has urged both parties to fully and unconditionally implement its terms without delay.

Thailand considers this resolution a major step towards achieving a peaceful resolution of the conflict and looks forward to its full and effective implementation.

Moreover, it supports the continued efforts by all parties to realise a two-state solution, in which Israel and Palestine live side-by-side in peace and security, in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations resolutions.

At least 41 Thai nationals were killed and scores were taken hostage in the October 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel last year. At least 23 Thai nationals have been released, while six still remain in captivity.
